Composite Deck

Composite floor deck is used for floor applications in multi-story buildings. It is used as a work platform before the concrete is poured and then as a permanent form for the wet concrete. The embossments in the vertical flanges of the composite deck create a bond between the concrete and the steel which results in a composite action. The composite floor is available in 1.5” deep, 2” deep, and 3” deep. Each profile is available in 16, 18, 20, and 22 gauge.

Form Deck

Form deck, also known as non-composite deck, is used in floor applications where steel and concrete composite bond is not required. Since it does not have embossments, it does not have a composite application. Form deck is used in many instances such as multi-floors, and stair landings, and can also be used as a roof deck. Form deck is available in 9/16”, 15/16”, 1.5”, 2” and 3” profiles. Ranging from 16 gauge to 28 gauge.

Roof Deck

The roof deck is a corrugated metal panel designed and engineered to be used as a structural roof panel on residential, commercial, and multi-story buildings to support built-up roof systems or lightweight concrete roof systems. They are typically supported in applications by steel joists or beams. There are 4 main types of roof decks all of which are manufactured by Marlyn Steel Decks. Wide rib deck, commonly referred to as B deck, is the most common type of roof deck used. Next is the intermediate rib deck commonly referred to as the F deck and the narrow rib deck commonly referred to as the A deck. For longer spans, deep deck, commonly referred to as N deck, is used. Roof decks are supported in applications by steel joists or beams. All of our roof decks are custom-cut to length. Standard lengths are 6’ to 42’.

Marcore (Dovetail Deck)

Marcore is a 2” deep dovetail-shaped deck that can be used as a composite floor deck, roof deck, or acoustical deck. Marcore’s unique dovetail-type rib system acts structurally as either a floor or a roof and as a clean and aesthetically attractive, linear-plank ceiling. Marcore features superior structural and acoustical capabilities and is the architectural choice for a roof and floor deck ceiling system. For roof deck applications it can span long distances and carry heavier loads than your typical roof deck. With the design of the dovetail deck it is ideal for floor applications due to its ability to keep slabs as thin as possible, but also keeping the long spans. Marcore has the ability to bond with concrete in the same way as composite decks. Marcore is available in 18, 20, and 22 gauge and can come with or without a stiffener rib.
